“Tobias” Custom Yamaha G1 Baby Grand Piano

This one-of-a kind custom designed baby grand piano was fashioned from the popular Yamaha G series. Called the “Tobias,” named after its designer, Tobias Hamilton, the owner of Hamilton Piano Company. This Yamaha G1 model is a compact size for living rooms and practice studios, its length of 5 feet 3 inches ensures a deep resonant tone that has warmth and clarity. The action has a light to medium touch making fast and delicate passages easy to play for all levels of pianists. The tone of this piano is overwhelmingly beautiful and is beautifully finished in high gloss ebony and nickel hardware, and its innovative design by Tobias Hamilton boasts an extraordinary acrylic see-through lid and music desk accented in an overlaying open-web motif of black acrylic for a completely stunning modern statement. Innovatively, the piano has a silver cast-iron plate rather than the traditional gold color, as well as accented with black felt instead of the typical red or blue. This great instrument has a luscious tone and a precisely balanced action. The strings have been replaced on this 1973 model.
