The Master 6 string Bass Viol after Richard Meares (c.1660), antique varnish. This viol is an ideal bass viol to play all kinds of renaissance and baroque continuo repertoire.This Lu-Mi viol is made from very high quality wood and combines excellent craftsmanship with a full, rich, rounded sound and a beautiful appearance. The ribs, back and neck are made of sycamore, the top of spruce, and the fingerboard and tailpiece of sycamore with ebony veneer or birds-eye maple. The wood is fully kiln-dried for stability.
