XJ (1984-2001) Jeep Cherokee Dash Bar The XJ dash bar is constructed from 1.25″ OD 14 gauge steel tubing, ten gauge plate steel pillar brackets, and 1″ OD grab handles on the sides. Without any bends, it maximizes strength. The bar was added over the glovebox location to act as a handlebar, giving the passenger a secure place to hold on when riding rough trails. Side handles make getting in and out of a lifted vehicle a breeze.
