Dana Bourgeois thinks of the OMS as the 12-fret version of the OM, as opposed to the other way around. It boasts all the tonal properties of the OM, with the added power and fullness of a 12-fret. The 12-fret design places the soundhole closer to the waist of the guitar and locates the bridge at the widest part of the lower bout. This is where it can most efficiently drive the top. This throwback design allows maximum power with minimum playing effort while affording a loose, open quality to the sound.
