I just bought these for grandma. I think they’re great. And they do exactly what they say they will.They even have battery back-up, in case of power failure, so they’ll kick on again a day after the power goes on.You can also program them when not plugged in, because they run on the internal rechargeable battery. Very nice.It has 10 timers, and a randomize function i f you want some start times to be randomized up or down a half hour each day. Great feature.I tested it out – it works flawlessly, and the display is well laid out.i love this timer.And for the price? Awesome. Seriously a fan.If I could deduct a 1/2 star, it would be for these things:1. It’s a little annoying that if you put it in ON or OFF mode, and then switch to AUTO (i.e. programmed), it gets out of whack until the next timer begins. Not a huge deal..2. When setting a timer, the button that chooses the day you want the timer assigned to is labeled ‘Week’. Counterintuitive. I was tired once and was looking for the ‘Day’ button. yeah, dumb mistake, I figured it out quick. Still, they got it wrong.3. When you program the STOP time for a timer, you have to RE-enter the day you want it assigned to.That’s counter intuitive.i.e., you start by choosing a day for a timer. Then assign the hour and minute of the start time.Next, you program stop time. NO YOU DON’T ! You actually have to pick the day AGAIN, for the stop time, and then enter hour and minute that you want the light turned off.What if you neglect to assign a day to the stop time?Answer: It will turn off/on differently than you expect. And you may not be home to notice that !This time is great, but your best bet is to enter all data, then cycle through the timers to make sure you got it how you want it.A few quibbles, easy to handle once you know about them.4 1/2 stars
