I bought a set of NEARPOW Digital Timers on July 15, 2022. I’m writing this on August 25th, so I’ve been putting them through their paces a while now. These little gems are easy to set up. They have TWO three-wire outlets where most timers have only one, and many have only 2-wire outlets which means adding an adapter, which can be unsafe if the ground wire is not attached.Unlike mechanical timers, these timers DO NOT HAVE TO BE RESET AFTER POWER OUTAGES! The internal clock will keep running, and displaying the time, for days without power. They run silently as well. I love that I can set the time and the interval accurate to the minute. In fact, I found nothing not to like. Why did I wait so long to buy these? I’ve used several mechanical timers around the house for many years. One turns on a light at night so my home looks occupied, another turns my aquarium lights on and off daily, and a third runs a marine battery charger for fifteen minutes a day to keep the battery topped-up. The mechanical timers are not very precise, maybe plus or minus 10 minutes by guess and by golly. Another big problem was that we have a lot of power outages where I live. The mechanical timers lose time whenever we have a power outage here in South Florida, which is often during our stormy summers. To make matters worse, they’ve grown noisy over time. My new NEARPOW Digital Timers run silently, are smaller in size, and I don’t have to keep resetting the time. Each timer has TWO outlets, so the timer controlling my aquarium lights allows me to plug both sets of lights into it without needing a separate 3-way plug adapter. It’s great that I can set the clock and timer interval while comfortably seated at my desk, and then plug them in later. The printed instructions are clear, I had no trouble setting the time and interval. I would recommend charging them for 3-4 hours before initial setup just to be safe.Lastly, Having an outlet at either end is a bonus. It allows me to have the plug face in the direction I want to make the cord appear neat and tidy. (If I’m using only one cord of course.)Bottom Line: I love these timers!!!
